Description
The TKFGRS is a standardized test to evaluate a young child's basic skills in reading, spelling, and arithmetic. The areas involved in determining a child's abilities and readiness for kindergarten and first grade include letter identification, phonetic and word identification, story comprehension, written computation, general number identification, number sequence, time identification, and verbal word problems.
Administration and Scoring
The test is completed and scored in approximately 20-30 minutes by principals, elementary school teachers, counselors, psychologists, resource specialists and other educational professionals. Directions for test administration are concise and easy to understand. Scoring takes about 10 minutes. Results are given in age equivalents, standard scores, percentiles, and stanines, and will show strengths and weaknesses in the various areas.
