Breaking the Reading Code III Antonim Pairs grades 2– 6
Joan S. Kissel
Research Based Peer Reviewed

The six sections of 353 developmentally arranged antonym pairs help students break the reading code with an emphasis on vocabulary, semantic considerations, and test taking skills through matching, closure sentences, multiple choice questions, key words, neither-nors, misfits, if-thens, and vebal analogies. Students learn higher level vocabulary words from earlier learned ones.

BRC lll Antonym pairs grades 2 – 6th has pre and post tests for each section. In addition, the Antonym pairs are presented by /s/, /l/, and /r/ sounds from students who need these skills to improve their language. The data and each work sheet include the purpose of the lesson, skills the lesson is designed to teach, and directions for use.

Academic Relevance/Efficacy are documented through pre and post tests and research data.

BRC III is appropriate for delayed or disordered language, autistic, hearing-impaired or ESOL students.
