Breaking the Reading Code lV,Problem Solving Stories

Problem Solving Stories teaches students to write a paper about a project, make a costume, and give a presentation. More importantly, it teaches them that this is something all students have to do.
The students, Butch, Kate, Mindi, Jan, Sam, and Don model writing a paper, making a costume and giving a presentation. Butch learns about peninsulas and thus, about the world. Your students will learn with him.

Each of the 28 stories includes a page in which students have to fill in verb tenses, a page of definitions from context with referral back to the text and highlighting of words, and a written page of main idea, problem, characters, setting, details from the story, recommendations and summary.
Academic Relevance/Efficicasy are shown through periodic tests embedded throughout the stories.
Appropriate for students from second grade through High School, ESOL students, and any students who think they are the only ones who have to do papers, projects, and presentations.
